FREE Root Beer Float at A&W on August 6
A&W Restaurants will celebrate National Root Beer Float Day on August 6 from 2PM to 8PM local time. During this event, customers can enjoy a free small Root Beer Float. While the treat is free, donations to DAV (Disabled American Veterans) are highly encouraged to support a great cause.
The story of A&W’s Root Beer dates back to 1919, when Roy W. Allen set up a Root Beer Stand in Lodi, California. On a hot June day, Allen served his new creamy and refreshing Root Beer, crafted from a blend of herbs, spices, barks, and berries, in frosty mugs. The drink was a hit at a parade celebrating the return of World War I veterans and has since become a symbol of celebration and community.
A&W has preserved this tradition by continuing to serve their signature made-fresh Root Beer in frosty mugs. On National Root Beer Float Day, the company pays homage to its origins by supporting service members. Visit your local A&W on August 6 between 2PM and 8PM local time to participate in the celebration and support DAV. Contact your local A&W Restaurant for detailed promotion information.
